iPhone 5: Smartphone Supermodel

Thin, light and tall, the iPhone 5 has captured media attention in a way that attempts at objectivity are lost amidst the hype. With the intention to elicit “a positive emotional attachment in users” through the iOS 6 Human Interface, it’s the user experience that will verify mobile perfection – inside out.
Innovation combined with great marketing has a magical effect.  The Apple event at San Francisco was as sensational as it was theatrical. Apple’s CEO Tim Cook presented the ‘world’s thinnest and lightest smartphone’ with class. For now, focus is mostly on hardware and design.
For their sixth generation iPhone, they have used the most sophisticated technology to create a stunning design.  Its It adorns a crystal sapphire lens that completes the mobile’s “near mirror finish.” Battery life increased to 8 hours is a lot for a smartphone. It means less worry about using apps and the A6 processor means faster performance.
Apple has also announced the iOS 6 GM (Golden master) seed as the final iOS version for app testing. Having redesigned iTunes, App Store and iCloud, the company has set high standards in their guidelines for app developers. With over 200 features on its 10 cm Retina display, creating iOS apps on the increased pixel size (1,135X140) is bound to be far superior than its predecessors. (Features not available outside the US, developers can consider creating region specific apps as an alternative).
Siri, the voice assistant’s enhanced knowledge of sports

· Maps with voice for route navigation
· Facebook Passbook acts as a ‘soft’ wallet that stores travel and purchase cards data
· Photos app FaceTime with panorama
· Guided Access for the disabled, such as VoiceOver for the blind
· Social integration with Facebook apps
· Game Center (Game Groups) for game development
The next few days will see the release of the phone into the global market, along with two new iPods: Nano and Touch. With the exclusion of making calls, the iPod Touch features are similar to iPhone 5. That includes iOS apps. With all this and more, third-party developers as well as users can look forward to an exciting new culture unfolding in mobile technology.
